Shared Care for a Planned Hospital Birth
Not every family chooses home birth - and that’s okay. If you’re planning to birth in the hospital but are looking for personalized, relationship-centered care throughout your pregnancy and postpartum journey, Lavender Moon Midwifery offers a prenatal and postpartum care program designed just for you. We can provide prenatal & postpartum visits virtually or in our office as well as postpartum home visits in the first 2 weeks that you are home from the hospital.
Our visits complement the care you receive from your hospital birth provider by offering unrushed appointments, evidence-based education, and individualized support as you prepare for birth and the transition into parenthood. Together, we’ll discuss nutrition, emotional well-being, birth preferences, breastfeeding, newborn care, postpartum recovery, and any questions or concerns that arise along the way.
After your baby is born, we’ll continue caring for both you and your newborn with comprehensive postpartum visits that support physical recovery, infant feeding, newborn assessments, and your family’s adjustment during the first weeks at home. Our goal is to provide the continuity, education, and compassionate support that many families are seeking—before and after birth—while you welcome your baby in the hospital setting.
Postpartum Visits are covered by Tricare Select (Tricare Prime Requires a PCP/OB Referral)
Some Office Visits during your pregnancy may also be covered by Tricare Select - Such as Breastfeeding Counseling/Preparation

For You
Holistic care is provided by a certified nurse midwife with extensive experience as a postpartum and newborn/NICU nurse. We offer exams, labs, herbal and allopathic remedies, mood disorder screening, referrals for additional care such as PT, and lactation assistance. Office visits are in our private, home-like office - personalized and on-time/no long waits. Home visits are available in the Coronado and Central San Diego area.

For Your Baby
Individualized care for your baby that includes recommendations for herbal or allopathic treatments, full exams of your newborn and close monitoring in the first few weeks postpartum, extensive lactation assistance and weight checks to ensure the baby is receiving enough breast milk at each feeding and growing well, and more. Lactation products and supplements are available at our office and can be brought to home visits.

Office Visits in Coronado, CA
The standard of care worldwide is to offer comprehensive, individualized postpartum care to support your rest and healing. If you choose to give birth in a hospital in the U.S., your postpartum care after leaving the hospital on day 1 or 2 after the birth will be one visit with your provider at 6 weeks postpartum. Lavender Moon will fill that gap and work with yourone-one to ensure you and your baby thrive.

Lavender Moon Midwifery provides midwifery, nursing, or lactation services - whether you plan to give birth in the hospital or community (home or birth center) setting - in the home for the San Diego area. We will come to you. There is no need to leave your bed or clean your house. Schedule an individual visit or a package of care. You and your baby need the best chance at a healthy and thriving first few weeks together.
